The retrofit process includes construction. Some buildings consisting of wooden frames that were constructed prior to 1978 are referred to as a soft story building. In most cases, buildings of this magnitude contain wide doors, large spaces, or other openings in places where a shear wall installation would be required for stability. Once your plans are approved, our team of professionals will start the building process.
What to expect from our process
Firstly, we visit your building and analyze the soft story condition.
Your assigned engineer will determine the soft story conditions of your building and draft architectural plans and perform engineering calculations, then design the retrofit work. Once the plans are ready, submit the plans to the local building department for approval. Once plans are approved we pull the permits for your project.
Our experienced contractors carefully construct the plans under the supervision of your assigned engineering specialist.
